Ticket sales has started for Hollywood on the Neva, a concert of SPSSO to be played in the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic on October 7. Under the baton of Walter Proost, the orchestra will perform symphonic hits of the world’s “Dream Factory.” The program will be accompanied by a video installation of film frames.
All tickets are sold for ABBA in Symphonic Concert, a concert of SPSSO to be held in the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic on June 2. The project whose idea belongs to Belgian maestro Walter Proost is clearly liked both by Petersburg residents and by guests of our city.
On May 26, the Palaces of St. Petersburg international festival will open in the Armorial Hall of the Hermitage. That night, the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of Konstantin Orbelian, with the prominent American tenor Stephen Costello as soloist.

On Saturday, April 30, the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with a program dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Sergei Prokofiev under Peter Feranec conducting. The program includes excerpts from the ballet “Cinderella”, Concerto for piano and orchestra № 1 (soloist — Sergei Red’kin) and the cantata “Alexander Nevsky”.
From 5 to 12 June 2016 will be held a concert tour of St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra in Korea. Concerts will be held in Seoul and other cities of the country. Petersburg musicians will perform works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Verdi and Rachmaninoff.
On Friday, March 18 SPSSO will appear in the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic in the Music in Tailcoats and Jeans cycle. Under the baton of the prominent Belgian maestro Walter Proost, Beethoven’s famous Fifth Symphony (where “Fate knocks at the door”) will be played in the first part, and a symphonic paraphrase on themes of The Beatles’ songs, in the second.
Today, the final concert of the “Classics for All Times” subscription of SPSSO, 2015-2016 season, will be played. The Mirror Hall of Princes Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace will hear masterpieces of Western European classics: Symphony Concerto for violin and viola with orchestra of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Symphony No. 3 of Johannes Brahms.The orchestra will be conducted by Peter Feranec. Soloists: Anna Weinstein, viola and Chingiz Osmanov, violin.
The string ensemble of the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra will perform in the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic with the program “Eight Seasons.” Pieces by Vivaldi and Piazzola will be performed by excellent young violinists Marianna Vasilieva and Antal Zalai, Hungary.
